Makeup tips for oily skin

Updated: Apr 16, 2020

Where are my oily skin babes at? Let's talk tips to help you look and feel your best. Tip 1: Take your makeup off at night and cleanse and moisturize. The Milk skincare line from Maskcara Beauty is incredible. Its gentle, yet hard-working formula will help you balance your pH levels and give your pores the refresh they need every day.

Tip 2: As someone with oily skin, you may tend to think that you shouldn't use any additional oils on your skin. This is not true! Your skin needs oils and when you deprive it of what it needs, it creates more oils to compensate. A great oil to use nightly is Skin Bae. Want to make your own "Skin Bae"? Tip 3: Use a silicone-free makeup primer. A few great ones are Emani Primer Serum, Cover FX Gripping Primer, and Too Faced Replenishing Primer. Tip 4: Use cream makeup! It may take 2-3 weeks for your skin to adjust, but hang in there and be amazed at how great it feels! You use so much less product so your skin can actually breathe. Get color matched for a custom cream foundation palette here.

Tip 5: Set your makeup with a setting powder. The powder might make your colors look a little dull, but it will help it last so much longer. Bring some of that color back with a bronzer. A few great ones are Butter Bronzer or Bella Bronzer. Some great powders to try are Maskcara's Vanilla Dust, Coty Airspun (it has flash back so don't use if getting pictures taken), Laura Mercier, and Maybelline Fit Me.

Tip 6: Try a setting spray. Maskcara has a great setting spray called Stay (currently OOS) that comes with or without SPF. Urban Decay's De Slick setting spray is also a great option. Whichever spray you choose, don't be afraid to soak your face and then blow it dry for a quick setting solution. Oily skin can be a tough thing to work with, but it can be done! I hope these tips help you feel more confident and beautiful than ever before.
